The Hamilton High and Hamilton Elementary Districts unified to the new Hamilton Unified School District on July 1, 2009 with Capay Elementary School remaining as an independent feeder school district.
 
The 800-student district is comprised of six schools, 46 certificated and 26 classified employees.
 
Hamilton schools strive for high academic standards and are committed to operating educational programs that meet the diversified educational needs of all students in the community.
 
The District also provides excellent co-curricular and extracurricular programs in the areas of music, art, agriculture, and athletics.
 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING & ACTION

At Hamilton Unified School District’s regular board meeting there will be two public hearings prior to the Governing Board taking action on the following matters.

PUBLIC HEARING.  Relating to the Use of 2013-14 Tier III State Categorical Funds Education Code §42605 grants districts flexibility in Tier III categorical programs and authorizes districts to use these funds for any educational purpose.  For the 2008-09 fiscal year through the 2014-15 fiscal year, inclusive, local educational agencies that use the flexibility provision of this section shall be deemed to be in compliance with the program and funding requirements contained in statutory, regulatory and provisional language.  As a condition of receipt of the funds, the governing board is required, at a regularly scheduled open public hearing held prior to and independent of a meeting where the governing board of the district adopts the annual budget, to take testimony from the public, identify any program that is proposed to be closed, discuss, approve or disapprove the proposed use of funding, and make explicit the purposes for which the funding will be used. 

ACTION ITEM.  Resolution No. 13-103, Tier III Categorical Flexibility (SBX3 4, ABX4 2, SB 70).  Consider approval of the proposed uses of the 2013-14 Tier III State Categorical Funds as identified in Resolution.

 

PUBLIC HEARING.  To solicit input on the Hamilton Elementary School Year 4 Plan for improvement developed by the District Advisory Committee to assist the principal and staff of the elementary school to improve the instructional practices and improve student learning.
